Google Acquires Mobile App Prototyping Tool Pixate

Google has acquired mobile app prototyping tool Pixate today, both companies have confirmed. Pixate had raised $3.8M from Accel Partners in 2013. It had popped out of the Y-Combinator oven previously (YC S12).

Google+ Photos Is Shutting Down On August 1st

Google is offering a tool that’ll transition Google+ Photos users over to Google Photos; you can find it on your Google+ account photos page. Even if you miss the deadline, Google says your photos will still be available by way of Google Takeout.

EA Sports announced in May that, for the first time ever, FIFA 16 will feature playable women's teams. Today the studio followed that up with the announcement that, also for the first time ever, female players will appear on the front of the box.

Ashley Madison infidelity site's customer data stolen

Customer data has been stolen from Ashley Madison, a dating website for married people who wish to cheat on their spouse.

The hackers said they had obtained information including "all the customers' secret sexual fantasies and matching credit card transactions".
